Hardcover prayer book with purple velvet wrapped boards and metal hardware on front cover, spine plate: "Gebetbuch" and latch. One color illustration on title page, black text. German language. All edges gilt, 607 pages. With nine laid in prayer cards (located in Flat File 2 Drawer 1) 2/10- Color illustration of a woman wearing a red and blue tunic, leaning on a tower holding a palm leaf and gold cup. Faded ink handwritten inscription on reverse "[?]... 24 November 1892" 3/10- Color illustration with gilded edges of a child with a halo petting a sheep. 4/10- Scalloped edges with pink and blue floral design surrounding an oval portrait of two men wearing crowns and robes flanking a kneeling woman. Reverse side of card has a prayer printed in German. Faded ink inscription on reverse side dated: 1884. 5/10- Color illustration of St. Theresia dressed in a nun's outfit and yellow cape, holding a cross. Her name is printed below the illustration in different langauges. Reverse side of card has a printed German prayer. 6/10- Scalloped and gilded lace border around an oval color illustration of St. Theresa dressed in a nun's outfit kneeling at an alter. 7/10- Scalloped and gilded lace border around an oval color illustration of Jesus. Reverse side has faded ink inscription: "J. Nickol." 8/10- Gilded, scalloped and embossed card with illustration of a woman in the center holding a cross. Embossed text below the illustration: "I will spend my Heaven in doing good upon the earth. After my death, I shall but fall a shower of roses." 9/10- Sepia illustration of Jesus standing over a church. Text below the illustration: "Der heil. Rock Unseres Herrn und Heilands Jesus Christus." Prayer in German printed on the reverse side. 10/10- Color illustration of sacred hearts and flowers.
