Framed lithograph with white border and illustration of three standing men wearing suits. One standing behind a counter wearing an apron and manipulating glass chemistry equipment. Other two men watching him work. Frame is made of wood and painted gold. Text below the illustration: "The Standardization of Pharmaceuticals (About 1833); Seldom did two preparations of 19th-century vegetable drugs have the same strength. Dr Albert B Lyons developed methods of accurate assay. Messrs. Parke and Davis recognized the importance of his work, began marketing of standardization medicines.
