Image of a roofed podium with an American flag draped over the front with a man (Roosevelt) standing taller in the center with others around addressing a large crowd of men seated and lounging on the ground. reverse has a note in pencil handwriting about Bernard's hurt hand and regret not seeing Josephine while he was home. Addressed to "Miss Josephine Raupp; Arlington Heights, Ills." With a green one cent adhesive stamp. Postmarked Oct 11,1917 from Rockford, IL Grant Branch. Dear Cousin received your letter was glad to hear from you I would write letter too but my hand hurts too much I was to the doctor today they sure are rough. Was you to the dance?Tthat's something I missed. Them 34 hours sure did pass quick, didn't get a chance to see you. From, Bernard
