Sharing Updates via Postcard
Since Anna and Josephine lived apart, they often exchanged letters and postcards of updates in their lives and funny stories. Two of these postcards in the Raupp Museum's collections are featured below. While some things may seem different than today, a lot of the feelings they share are very similar to what we experience today.

"Dearest Anna,
I received your pretty cards and as usual have been slow in answering them. I was in Manistee last night and came back and went to a dance but failed to have a good time. We are having some beastly cold weather here, I hope it’s better in Chicago. I am glad to learn that you have got another raise and as I said B 4 I hope his (as you call him) Highness will keep on raising you. Regards to you and (your family) from me and (my family) and also my Love to Harry.
As ever Joe."

"Hello Anna!
I haven't heard from you for a long time and I'm wondering if you're on the dead list. I am taking things easy now, am in Pontiac. Send mail home, because I have not settled down yet.
Joe”
